“Griffin’s War” – May 13th, 2023

Split between two canvases, this piece holds a deeply personal story. A battle of will shown through the atrocities of war.  How do we keep fighting that internal battle? Where do we find the strength? The Griffin depicted on the far left is ideal. He is stoic, unwavering, and virtuous. The boot licker beneath him has succumbed to animal instincts. He has become subservient to base desire, and therefore has been beaten down by life and the war.
