“Finding Mephistopheles” – June 2nd, 2023

You’re in a dark room with nothing but a flashlight. Whatever you cast a light on remains illuminated. The pieces don’t make up a complete puzzle until everything has been lit. This is the journey of an artist, and as such, the journey of finding Mephistopheles. In this portrait I surrendered myself to depict an old figure of folklore. Indistinguishable mounds begin to delegate. They wonder how far they can stretch, before they start to break.
