Conjurism vol 2:
The definitive version of “modern cave painting”.

Conjurism vol. 2 is the debut solo show for fine artist Griffin Rich, 20 years old at the time it was held. For the first time ever each of the 20 paintings in this collection were on full display to the public.
Conjurism is a unique style and methodology that employs the neocortex (the pattern seeking part of our brain). Griffin believes that human being’s ability to recognize and distinguish patterns is at the root of visual art, and so, culture as a whole. Recording events and telling stories through visual mediums is intrinsically linked to human history. Through developing his art, Griffin aims to add to our cultural cannon- to tell stories full of universal truths.
Let this artwork restore a sense of reverence that was once lost in our modern world. Let them expose the horrors of flesh and bone. And the beauty of it too.
My characters flow and intertwine, but reluctantly so. They all find conflict with one another and are oblivious to their creator.
Such is life.
They are trapped in a state of Forced Cohesion.
I sculpt what I see through intuition. Some ask me why a certain character looks the way they do. To that I say, why do you look the way that you do? It is not for you or I to say. These beings present themselves to me. I’m just here as a photographer.
This visual language, this style of painting that I’ve developed is called Conjurism.

Atop the surface of each canvas you the viewer are treated to an experience. You may gaze into another dimension. Each dimension will make you feel a different way, for they are each mirrors.
You can identify, empathize, find interpretations all your own. But remember, whatever they bring out of you, is wholly yours.
Conjurism Vol. 2 was a great success, seeing over 700 guests in its 3 days. Griffin is currently working on Conjurism Vol. 3 which is planned to open in November 2024
